hello there! hope the week is going well for you. i am certainly enjoying these sunny days!
A contacted me to style the cutest crewcuts sequin-stripe popover sweater she recently purchased. (on sale! what a steal!)
i loved the big bold stripe and you know i can't resist anything with sparkles so of course it was a treat to come up with outfits.
(just click the arrow on the side to scroll through the 10 different options. click on the link to find out product information via polyvore)
my favorite pairings are with anything mint or leopard (clearly, each made it in 2x)... leopard leggings would be oh so cute too!
what would you suggest?

i tried to keep K's style in mind when picking these looks out, but would love to know - how would you style these fancies?

outfit of the day: 06.15.2012
on friday, i broke out a new pair of jeans. loved the bright neon color - and surprisingly easy to pair!
* also scored the anchor blouse from j.crew on super sale. marked to $69.99, then in-stores had an additional 30% off!

xhilaration strapless dress styling options
spotted a cute xhilaration dress at target this week and wanted to share:
it's got little apples all over the skirt! with the zipper back and smocking, it is super easy to throw on. also liked the two patch pockets on the front.
i didn't end up purchasing, well, because i bought that lauren moffatt instead... but i still took a whirl at how i would wear it.

outfit of the day: 06.13.2012
it's about time for one of these, don't you agree? today i wore my new lauren moffatt sugar cane dress. i went minimal on accessories.
after much looking online and looking in my closet, i ended up pairing with vintage anthropologie: the tulip two-step boots.
if i would have been more on top of my sale-hunting game, i think these pretties (or really any platform clog) would have also been amazing. i am officially on the look-out for a cute pair!
happy wednesday!

lazy sunday.
hello. how has the weekend been?
the weather is gorgeous here, maybe a little warm for my liking. but hey, the sun is out!
luckily my apartment is filled with windows. all weekend they have been wide open. i am enjoying the breeze and the birds (i just wish it would breeze a little more.)
today i need to:
- go for a walk
- do loads of laundry
- sort some clothes off to consignment
- hang up/fold some other clothes
- get a fan or air conditioner or something
- decide on dinner
but...
i just want to go to the movies. i am having a lazy sunday.
at least i finally washed the dishes :)

weekly round-up
hello! how was the week?
just popping in to share my latest finds.
last thursday i was with a gal at happy hour who had the perfect color of orangey red lipstick. i asked her what it was: MAC "good to go." so i proptly headed over to nordstrom to pick it up.
while there, i happened upon these current/elliott jeans with the faintest polka dots. love! on sale too! (wore them with leopard shoes and a lace top. a snapshot here.)
this gorgeous pink anthropologie necklace caught my eye. such a perfect statement over a simple summer dress. (see me wearing with the watermelon ice dress here.)
lastly, i purposely missed out on that lovely pink lauren moffatt arrow coat (anthro name was the eastward dress coat). i have too many coats and i was suspect of the snap closures as so many at my local store had broken.
imagine my delight when a few months ago i saw this post. you-mean-to-tell-me-the-coat-i-love-is-now-in-a-dress?! amazing! i did not, however, love the price. i sort of chalked it up to a never will own. until last weekend.
i was busy browsing and wham. modcloth had (maybe a popback?) one left on sale and it was a size 8. eeek! i ordered immediately. it arrives on monday! hope it fits! <fingers crossed!!!>
have a happy weekend!

pep in your step
peplums.
remember leifsdottir's honeyed peplum skirt from years back?
here's a reminder:
so great. love the mustard color and the big buttons.
a little tricky to pull off, but if the fit is right - they can be pretty flattering for a gal.
for example, these ladies rocked it:
tara b at little girl big closet
amy k at kelinda kelinda
dea at the dea diaries
i never purchased. sad sad.
BUT a couple weeks ago i (finally) ended up wearing a peplum of my own. granted it was a top, but nevertheless, it was the perfect top to compliment the flare in the skirt.
and ever since that pairing, i can't get the style out of my head. oh so feminine.
what do you think? pro or against the peplum?

color me spring
well hello!
color is all around this spring, but there are a few that stand out. first up, i have always loved navy. with my fair skin and blue eyes it flatters me more than traditional black. so during the spring/summer i try to snatch it up.
both those anthropologie dresses would be perfect all summer long. the marc by marc jacobs finches captured my heart. a less expensive version of birds in the target bikini. still love the anchor j.crew blouse. lastly, peplums are making a come-back. the alice and olivia dress would be perfect for work.
citron is slowly popping up too. i loved it in the blooming whim shift dress, but also in smaller doses like the two pairs of shoes. i spotted the RED valentino handbag at nordstrom last week, loved the look (not loving the price). lastly, current elliott had a dotty pair of charmers.
for accessories with either citron or navy, i am turning to pink and gold.
love that target has a cheaper version of the dolce vita sandals with just enough gold. tried this necklace on in-store. amazing. wish those chie's were mine. the modern print on the cuff takes it up a notch.
lastly, an ice-cream sweet combination of coral and mint. these colors have always been my fav - but now they are popping up all over the place. i love them in nail polish, but have been especially smitten with these next few pieces:
what colors are you loving this season?
