shopping with mom
on sunday, i had a delightful shopping afternoon with my mother. because we don't live in the same city, i rarely get the chance go shopping with her. beyond that, my hometown doesn't have an anthropologie - so it was really a special treat to go there together and find some fun looks for her (instead of me). here's what she ended up with:
for a lady who loves navy, it was fun to see her in more colors and a variety of feminine styles. i am also super jealous that she got the backswept dress and might get it myself!
i can't wait to see how she pairs the pieces. afterall, like most of you, my style is definitely from my mother's influence.

a foxy tale
i have quite the story for you. it begins with a blog post by kendi from last fall. you know i cannot resist a charming animal print and this fox was no exception. kendi paired it perfectly for work too!
with the blouse sold out on francesca's, i scoured online and throughout the months, modcloth had a variety of options:
i missed out on the tunic, and the others didn't quite fit me/and or sold out before i got a chance to purchase (see my post from last september).
i had moved this beloved print to the "one's that got away" file. until now...
forever21 came to my rescue last week with their a-line fox tank.
same adorable print. perfectly easy to wear tank silhouette.
i ordered the medium and it fit perfectly. happy ending to my tale.
i love when that happens. don't you? have a great wednesday. off to my hair appointment!

a few little closet additions
well hello there! hope you are all having a wonderful week! are you surviving this heat wave? i need to post some outfits, but i think the heat is just taking all my motivation! as soon as i get home, i just want to go straight to bed. until i get in gear, i wanted to share a few of my latest closet additions.
wedges: i saw these at dsw a few weeks ago and they reminded me of a much more expensive miu miu pair from a few years back. i liked the taupe color. these have become a staple in my summer wardrobe already.
did you pick up any good deals recently? summer is always the hardest season to shop for me. i never feel like dressing in anything other than a chemise and flip flops and fall clothes are too tempting to resist.

shorts: these tracy reese dottie shorts i found on sale at my local anthro! they only had one pair and it was my size! hooray! i had never seen them in person since none of the local stores carried them. i took a size 8. this is the same size i wear in tracy reese dresses, but i took a size 10 in the paper boy shorts.
