getting a few z's

awhile back, i shared that i was looking for something sparkly to go over my bed. i finally found what i was looking for: a few z's, compliments of rose mille.

they look so quirky just hanging there.
originally i mentioned that i wanted a phrase, but i love how it turned out with just the letters. maybe a little more whimsical this way?

here are a few more shots with better lighting:

oooh i just want to curl up in my bed just looking at it. success! as that is the perfect feeling to create for a bedroom!

deuxhill cowlneck styling options, take 2

hello! just sharing a couple additional styling options for the deuxhill cowlneck. such a versatile top!
first, tucking into a fuller skirt, pairing with a velvet blazer. i love love love this velvet blazer. something about the shape and color i find would work with just about anything!

i also think it would work with the waving grain pumps from anthropologie.

for the fifth option, i wanted to take it a little vintage pin-up. again, i would tuck the top into the skirt.

winter berry

i love getting in the holiday spirit with deliciously scented candles. i would not classify myself as a candle person (or fragrance really) but i do love a candle every now and then. now of course i love all the different offerings at anthropologie, but sometimes they get a little pricey! so i was thrilled when i happened upon this one while browsing at target: winter berry candle.

first, it smells just amazing. such a light but holiday fragrance. i have been burning it all afternoon and it almost smells like i have been stewing over a pot of cider. next, i loved the darling packaging. simple, but still pretty. third, at $9.99, it is about half the price as most candles of the same size, and lastly, the brand is illume! well, technically it's "bella by illume" which to me, means same factory, less expensive candle. happy holidays!

outfit of the day: 11.19.2010

hello there! thought i would share my outfit of the day today. the facile camp shirt and maryam tank came out to play again. it looks like anthropologie brought out the blouse in an ivory colorway now (in addition to the olive and black). i was able to try on at the store, but the ivory had a bit of grey in it and just didnt work on my fair skin. i do love the idea though, so give a whirl!

anthropologie laced with grace dress fitting review

hello there! i was thrilled when i spotted the laced with grace dress by lil at a recent trip to anthropologie. i was obsessing over it for at least a month and finally i got to try it on. (and let me tell you, it was a dream on!)

the dress is by lil and runs true to size for lil (which i feel like is always a little less generous) i am wearing the 8 and the fit was perfect. i also liked that it was a little shorter. it was a must purchase. i can't wait to pair it with the over the moon booties and tights!

mod cloth lovely omen dress fitting review

along with the booties, the lovely omen dress arrived from mod cloth. alas, this dress (size issues) did not wow me. but i do think it would work on the right person.

it was a little too big in the shoulders (i needed a medium, not a large) and it was a wee bit short. i tried layering a slip from free people underneath, here:

but, it just seems like a lot of effort to make it work for $60. if i were to keep it, a thicker leather belt would work better than the silky ribbon.

the hunt is still on for the perfect lace dress.
