j.crew girls shooting star dress

so i saw this j.crew crewcuts dress in the most recent catalog and sort of fell in love.
the print, the ruffles, the layers...

it's the shooting star dress, item #32502 and runs up to a 14. i know, i know. i am not a kid. i am a 20-something who should not be wearing kid's clothing. but... it runs up to a 14, so i thought i might give it a shot. (i believe the conversion is that a kid's size 14 is a 4-6 in women's...)

 

i liked the zipper detailing on the back...and this was it on me:

 

so there you have it.
adorable on, just too small for me in the arms/bust area. so for all you ladies that are smaller than a j.crew women's 6-8 (traditionally my size in their dresses), i bet this would work on you! it would be adorable with black tights, some cute shorter boots, and a few longer necklaces. for only $65, why not!? in the meantime, i might just order the shooting stars skirt and hope that fits instead!
