anthropologie essential summer shift fitting review and styling option

hello there! lucky for me, i am short (5'4) enough to wear the essential summer shift as a dress without worrying about the length... taller girls, the lace portion might get a bit too revealing if you know what i mean ;)

this one also did not run bigger at all. i am wearing the medium.

now as you know, i love create options online, but this week i also realized it is quite fun to create options in store. so here is how i might wear this one out on the town:

what did i add? here is the polyvore breakdown:

anthropologie essential summer shift fitting review

Summer dress
$128 - anthropologie.com

High heels
$148 - anthropologie.com

Butterfly hair accessory
$28 - anthropologie.com

Leather belt
$38 - anthropologie.com

now i know it is called the essential summer shift, but honestly, i think it is the perfect black dress for pairing with nubby wool tights and short little booties in the winter too! it's not even august and i have autumn fever already!

until next time,
S

  1. ha- I love the in-store styling option! I love how wide the lace hem is- is the dress transparent/well-lined?

  2. That is a beautiful dress! I'm a bit taller, so I don't know if it will work for me, but it's worth trying. I love how you styled it.

  3. the dress is cotton, but has a texture similar to linen. i didn't think it was see-thru at all. there is no slip or lining (that i can remember.) the hem of course is lace, so there is no coverage there. i would feel more comfortable wearing the dress with tights than wearing it in the summer.

kristin - i think it would be adorable as a tunic over skinny jeans and some heels...
