lucillae dress fitting review and styling options

a week or so ago at anthropologie i tried on the lucillae dress by moulinette soeurs. i am having some trouble with moulinette soeurs lately. unlike floreat, which seems to be cut more generously through the hips than usual,  moulinette soeurs is just narrow, narrow, narrow. (it's too bad as i liked the stylist's eye dress and  pittore dress, but they just didn't like me back)

this is my typical size 8. it fit, but was a little snug. the lovely ladies in the fitting room thought it looked good, i just wasn't in love. here are some options for pairing it though:

option 1, keeping it simple and classic:

option 2, adding some girly flair:

option 3 - i found yellow and reds were the easiest to pull out for pairings:

option 4, dressing it down a bit with a boyfriend cardi and flats:

  1. The lovely ladies in the fitting room are right, this dress looks really good on you!

Thanks for trying it on, my anthro stores in Toronto don't stalk alot of the items from the website. Your reviews are so helpful in determining whether I should purchase something online. Keep them coming!

  2. thanks lisa! i would recommend ordering both your usual size and a size up if you happen to have any sort of curve/hip waist ratio. i still need to try a size up, as the 8 was a little too snug for the office. hopefully this weekend i can try on some new november arrivals for you! so many pretties!
