tucker for target try-ons

my local target had the tucker for target by gaby basora designer collaboration line out today! (officially hits stores 9.12.10 and lasts until october? i doubt it will still be around stores after a week or two!) for a peek at the whole collection check out nitrolicious here and here . (i do think the lookbook makes the items look a little stranger than they actually are in person. i mean, who would ever wear 7 tucker items at once?) target's website should have the items starting 9.12. i didn't have time to try on at the store - so i purchased practically one of everything to try on in the comfort of my home. i think the cashier must of thought i was nuts. oh well. back i go to do returns tomorrow.

below are my favorite picks. (p.s. i was pretty impressed. though all polyester, i loved the fun prints and i thought that overall the cuts were pretty flattering. check it out in select targets, in very limited numbers.)

first up, this adorable polka-dot blouse, wearing a size medium. found it fits true to size:

polka dots are an orangey color over cream. love the bow! can't wait to wear to work with a cute cardi.

next up is one of the signature dresses in navy, with a fuschia print. i am wearing the medium here. though it is a little blousey on top, sizing down to the small would probably be too tight in the hips/thighs. i first tried with the self-fabric belt, then with the midas braids belt from anthropologie (now sold out online). i think a thicker belt works wonders with this dress.

next up is a tunic blouse that came in solid navy or an orange print (medium again):

i was a little surprised that i liked this one. the ruffle detail in front was nice and simple. i think you could easily wear this with leggings or tights - or even sport bare legs. it was only after i tried on the orange here:

that i realized the ruffle is supposed to go in the back?! i don't know! the tag is on the side with the ruffle, which if i want to wear it properly then, the ruffle goes in the back. weird. i am not sure i like as much. what do you think? i will probably just keep wearing it backwards. i decided to keep only the navy. though i like the orange, i felt like the print was wearing me, not the other way around.

this next print was available in both a top and a dress. the top fits the exact same as the dress (just without the skirt...) though i am not a huge fan of butterflies, i did like the colors in the dress. i thought they would be easy to mix and match with other items i own. i would also recommend trying it with a different belt - maybe the looping lanes belt from anthropologie? (which btw is now available in a rich chocolate color! perfect for fall!)

this one would work great in the spring and summer too! for fall, i will wear with a cardigan and tights, or i could put a long sleeve tee underneath for something more casual.

i purchased one other tucker dress that ended up being my favorite, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow. it will be my ootd and i would hate to ruin the surprise. i am so excited to wear it!

until next time,
S
