outfit of the day: 01.17.2011

hello! oh goodness. i was (and still am) so excited by the outfits that were created. so much fun for me to look through them and get inspired with combinations i have never thought of! today, i went with the wooded hideaway skirt from anthropologie. i haven't worn it to work yet, so i needed a look to tone down the whimsy of the skirt and make it office appropriate. i originally reviewed the skirt here and wore it once here.

i combined ideas from both sweetlaundry and whatjesslikes to create an awesome outfit. thanks ladies!!


i liked both viewpoints. when i combined them - here was my result:

 

i layered the blazer over the sweater. because of this, i went with a slightly smaller belt that fit better underneath. i also changed up the snowscape blouse to a tank in a similar color. this fit better underneath all the layers.

 

i loved it! i thought it was perfect, so thank you, thank you! i can't wait to wear more of the outfits that were created.... plus, maybe do another installment with new items?

    Awww you look great! I am so glad that the blazer worked well with the skirt, I want to find something like that in my closet now hehe. Those shoes that sweetlaundry picked out to go with the skirt are adorable, a great mash-up! Thanks for the opportunity, it was fun :)

    Yay! You look fantastic! Great idea to combine the two looks. I think the blazer and the skinnier belt around the cardigan look really good. And your legs look super long in the needlepoint platforms. This is one of my favourite outfits!

    thank you! i always think some of the best looks involve more layers than you initially think, you know? i love a simple dress, but sometimes its the sweater, belt, etc. that make a look.
